Who we are
Examerio ("we", "us") operates this exam preparation platform. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and what rights you have over it.
What we collect
- Account data: email address, and a language preference, via sign-in with AWS Cognito (email/password or Google)
- Exam activity: the exams you take, questions answered, scores, and progress over time — this is the core of the service (your stats)
- Technical data: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and anonymized error/performance reports (via Sentry, configured not to store IP addresses) to catch bugs. No analytics or advertising trackers
Why we collect it
To provide the service itself: let you sign in, take exams, and see your own progress and stats over time. We also use your email to send transactional messages (e.g. account-related notices) — never marketing without a separate opt-in.
Where it's stored
Your data is processed and stored by the following infrastructure providers, all in the EU (Ireland, eu-west-1) where applicable:
- Fly.io — hosts the application itself
- AWS — Cognito (sign-in), S3 (exam images), SES (transactional email)
- Supabase — hosts the database (account data, exam activity)
- Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google
- Sentry — error and performance monitoring, configured not to store IP addresses; no analytics, no advertising
Your rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can request account deletion from Settings — your account is deactivated immediately and permanently deleted within 14 days. For access, correction, or export requests, contact us and we'll handle it manually.
Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal data, subject to any legal retention obligations (e.g. billing records).
Age
This service is intended for users aged 18 and over. A parent or guardian may create an account and purchase access on behalf of a minor — that purchase is treated as the adult's own transaction.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
